What We Can Do for Religion Today

March 29, 2026 10:00 am

All are welcome to join us in-person or online for Sunday’s service as member Dave Andrews leads a service centered around a sermon written by Rev. Holly Anne Lux-Sullivan called  “What We Can Do for Religion Today.”

American culture today is turning more and more away from established religions. Outside of fanatic minorities, people seem indifferent to or even repulsed by the very idea of embracing religious beliefs or practices. The founding fathers of this country agreed that religion was an important component of a healthy society, but also agreed (mostly) that it should NOT be mandated or specified by government. This service will explore a little of what our culture has done TO religion recently, some ways we might de-demonize the idea of religion for the sake of the human spirit, and some incentives for doing so.
