With Guest Rev. Jo Murphy

Throughout the years many articles have discussed what to put in your emergency bag. As climate change ramps up, I have seen more articles about preparing a bag for the end of the world. As UU’s, what do we put in our spiritual backpack for hard times? What tools does our faith provide us with to couple with our emergency knives and fire starters? Today we will explore what we already have and what we should gather for our spiritual emergency bag.

Rev Murphy graduated from Wellesley College and Harvard Divinity School. She was ordained by First Parish in Framingham. Prior to becoming the executive director of UU Mass Action in 2022, she worked as a chaplain at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She has a long commitment to social justice that includes work as a Peace Corps volunteer, involvement with Boston Immigration Justice Network, membership in the Boston chapter of Standing Up For Racial Justice, and volunteering with 350.org
