Composer, guitarist, and singer Jim Scott is our guest this morning. His songs are in our UU Hymnbooks, and he’s toured the country for four decades playing at over 700 UU churches.
Interspersing songs with his personal reflections on the season, Jim celebrates a spiritual and ecological awareness so necessary now. The days are already getting longer; we’ll look back and look ahead to the rebirth of another spring. Jim makes the case for our “spiritual response” as in the past year the crisis of the life spirit of our Earth has only grown greater. Resisting becoming “us and them,” our theology calls for teachers, diplomats, and healers in a momentous time to come. Jim’s songs and poetry reaffirm our place in the amazing, continuing web of life.
