Alexandra’s career bridges national security and democracy work. She is the Director for Free and Fair Elections programs and national security policy at Protect Democracy, a cross-ideological nonprofit organization. In 2018, she was the first openly transgender candidate for Congress from Massachusetts. She previously worked for 13 years in the U.S. Intelligence Community. Alexandra also currently serves on the Board of GLAD Law, a legal services organization advancing justice for LGBTQ+ people and people with HIV, and has served on the boards of other LGBTQ+ community organizations, including the Massachusetts Trans Political Coalition and Whitman Walker Health in Washington, D.C. She is a graduate of Brown University and Brooklyn Law School. She appears today in her personal capacity.
