Celebrating Peace Day

Our Religious Exploration Program celebrated the International Day of Peace on Sunday, September 22, 2024, by decorating cupcakes with peace themes and handing out peace flags to the community and to all congregants.

In addition, about 35 people—adults and children—participated enthusiastically in our Prayer Flag for Peace Project.
These “peace agents” drew and decorated fabric flags. Once collected, they will be strung and displayed outdoors at the entrance to our building. The flags will be exposed to the elements, and wave in the breeze, sending out the wishes for peace to the world. The string of flags will demonstrate to all who see them that First Parish of Sudbury is a peace-filled and peace-loving congregation.
