I am so grateful to begin my second year here at First Parish Sudbury. This year I am so excited to work with your children as we explore World Religions and how they relate to our own Unitarian Universalist faith. In addition, we will continue with our quest to take part in activities that serve others. I am hoping to offer programming that will allow your children to explore, have fun, and grow in community.
Sunday, September 10:
We will begin our year with a celebration of our RE community during the RE session.
Sunday, September 17:
We begin our study of World religions by exploring the concept of what is religion? Why does Religion exist? We will begin to create personal altars and offer an activity for the congregation to take part in during Coffee Hour.
Sunday, September 24:
This week in our RE program we will explore the Five Mysteries of Life and how these mysteries relate to World Religions. This will be a hands-on, creative session!
Family Coffee Hour – Join us in the Commons at the end of the service for a special family coffee hour. We will have snacks, beverages, and some fun activities, including a simple service project, for families to take part in.
Unitarian Universalist Principles – Children’s Version
We believe that each and every person is important.
We believe that all people should be treated fairly and kindly.
We believe that we should accept one another and keep on learning together.
We believe that each person must be free to search for what is true and right in life.
We believe that all persons should have a vote about the things that concern them.
We believe in working for a peaceful, fair, and free world.
We believe in caring for our planet Earth, the home we share with all living things.
