Join us for a community read of the Frederick Douglass Essay: “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July.”
The event will take place at First Parish, and we are co-hosting with Athina Education to mark Juneteenth and July 4th with Reading Frederick Douglass Together in Sudbury! This event will begin outside (weather permitting) on the terrace. After the group read-aloud of Douglass’ 4th of July Address, everyone is invited indoors to participate in a community art project. A similar event took place at the Wayside Inn last year.
Please let the FPS office or Rev. Hepler know if you would be willing to read a few lines of this profound work that morning.
