Welcome to Religious Exploration – December 2022

Michelle Cote, RE Director

This month in our Religious Exploration Program, we will explore some of the festivals of light that are celebrated at this time of year.

December 4
This Sunday we have many things going on! We will enjoy the special performances of the Morris Dancers as part of the service. We will then take part in an exploration of the Hanukkah celebration by learning about the customs, foods, and games that are part of this holiday. If time permits, we will then spend a few minutes on our monthly service project which entails creating ornaments to give to others.

December 11
We will continue with our exploration or winter celebrations by taking part in some creative art that honors various seasonal holidays.

December 18
We will gather together in our Sanctuary for a multi-generational service focused on the traditional Christian Christmas story. There will be a chance for any child or youth to take part in the service if they wish.

There will also be a special multigenerational choir for all ages to participate in on this day as well.

Unitarian Universalist PrinciplesChildren’s Version

We believe that each and every person is important.
We believe that all people should be treated fairly and kindly.
We believe that we should accept one another and keep on learning together.
We believe that each person must be free to search for what is true and right in life.
We believe that all persons should have a vote about the things that concern them.
We believe in working for a peaceful, fair, and free world.
We believe in caring for our planet Earth, the home we share with all living things.
