First Parish Women’s Alliance kicks off new season with guest speaker – Join us September 10th at 6:30 in the Commons

Our get-togethers are open to all women with a connection to First Parish of Sudbury, regardless of membership status. Newcomers are especially welcome. Join us for this opening event.

Rebecca Parkhill, First Parish member and co-founder of the Metrowest Women’s Fund will talk to us about the Fund’s mission and projects. First Parish has supported this new group with a Share the Plate in the Spring and the collection of project art materials for the “Mom & Me” camp at MCI-Framingham this summer.  Come hear what’s next and how we can continue to be involved and support this group. The Fund has already supported a “dreamer” student at Framingham State and hosted an educational event with Betsy Soule, the director of the Metrowest Legal Services, who presented about the legal needs of women and girls living on low income in our community.

As usual, we have a “bring whatever” potluck starting at 6:30 and our program around 7pm.   In addition to our speaker, we will have a brief discussion of upcoming programs. Please come, with or without a donation of home-made or store-bought food or beverage. There’s always plenty to go around.

For this church season the Women’s Alliance gatherings will be on the 10th of the month in September, October, January, February, and March. The other months have special events, which we will discuss at this opening gathering. All our events, like our periodic potluck gatherings, are open to all women with a connection to First Parish of Sudbury, regardless of membership status. Again, newcomers are especially welcome.
