From the Women’s Alliance–Rummage Sale Wrap-Up, and Thanks

We had a very successful sale, thanks to the hard work of almost forty volunteers — First Parish women, and men too — who wrote articles, distributed flyers, updated and installed the sign, set up and took down tables, hauled donations up from the basement, sorted everything that came in during the run-up to the sale, prepared grocery bags–and then handled the crowd from admissions through monitoring the sales floor to selling jewelry and other specially priced items to checking people out.  Whew!

Special thanks to those who arrived, or stayed, to clean up after the sale was over. Thanks, too, to the families who donated an array of clothing, household goods, books and so much more.  Along the way we had some laughs among ourselves, built community, and met some interesting people at the sale itself. If you see some of your church friends wearing vintage duds/jewelry you haven’t seen before, ask where they came from! See you next year…
