So far about eighteen people have volunteered to help out before, during and after the Women’ Alliance rummage sale, which takes place Saturday April 13 from 9:30-1:30. This includes three men who have committed to helping us set up the tables on Wednesday at 10. We hope some people who are available to help set up will also help lug stuff from Classroom 3 downstairs up to the Parish Hall. And we need strong people also to put away the tables after the sale is over.
Between Wednesday and Friday afternoon there will be sorting, sorting and MORE sorting–of clothing, household goods, office supplies, CDs, DVDs, books, puzzles, games and more. We could certainly use a few more people for this overwhelming task, if you haven’t signed up yet. And then there is a need for a few more people to come at 1:30 to get the leftovers ready for the Salvation Army pickup (at 2) and to sweep the floor.
The Women’s Alliance recently bought the new fridge when we needed one ASAP, and have committed to buying the stove when the kitchen is redone. This sale makes that and many other grants possible, as well as helping to defray the cost of our retreats and other programs for members.
Please contact Peg Espinola if you haven’t done so yet, and would like to volunteer. Oh, and remember, volunteers get to buy THEIR bags of rummage ($5/a grocery bag) and fill them before the sale begins.
