The Auction is Coming! April 6

Mark your calendars for Saturday evening, April 6th  at 6 PM, for the annual First Parish Spring Service Auction. This year’s theme will be Breakfast at Tiffany’s, so get ready for a glamorous evening of fun and bidding.

If you are a veteran of the Service Auction, you know what a good time it is.  If you are a newcomer, welcome to a fun event that is not to be missed! And….the fun continues after the Auction ends, as First Parish folks get to connect with each other throughout the year at social events that are auctioned.

The evening will begin at 6 PM with appetizers, wine, beer, and soft drinks while we peruse and bid on silent auction items. Dinner will be served and then we’ll move into the lively verbal auction, where you’ll have a chance to bid on pool parties, game nights, dinners, vacation homes, theater trips, and more!

There will be gift certificates and items donated by area merchants. But the best items are those donated by First Parish members and friends. Perhaps you would like to donate a service – gardening, computer help, dance lessons, rides to the airport. We auction off vacation homes, dinners – in your home or another location, pool parties, nature walks, mystery nights, trips to concerts and museums, etc.  In short, anything that is fun. We also welcome items that are interesting and unique and that could carry a minimum bid of $25. We even have a few spots for very special treasures you have loved and would like to send to a new home – just email us at and we’ll let you know if we are able to accept them.

There are two ways to make a donation to the Auction. The online form is at: http://fpsudbury.org/auction-donation-form/. If you prefer a manual form, they are available in the church office. If you have something in mind, it’s not too early to donate. And you can donate additional items at any time.

If you need a service performed, consider a “reverse auction item”. You describe the service (leaf raking, computer support, organizing) and how much you are willing to “pay”. Someone willing and able to do the work will volunteer and you “buy” the item for the amount you specified. Start crossing items off your to-do list with a reverse auction item. http://fpsudbury.org/reverse-auction-form/

Auction tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the door. There will be childcare with pizza and movies for the kids.

Any questions, please contact the Service Auction Committee: Sherene Aram, Leslie Bryant, Sherri Cline, Gail Hardenbergh, Jan Hardenbergh, Sara Hartman, Anna Lee, and Sheila Murphy.

See you at the Auction!
