Thanksgiving is a historically joyous occasion to celebrate that has become a challenging holiday based on our history in New England. White Europeans are like those loud and annoying distant cousins who showed up for dinner and then refused to behave or go home. How do we atone for our ancestors entitled bad behavior? Yet, giving thanks is an important practice and a way to acknowledge where we come from and the work that we have left to do. Rev. Dr. Marjorie Matty will be sharing her thoughts about the reality of giving thanks in a nation, built on the backs of immigrants, indentured servants and slaves, that now fears immigration.
This Sunday bring a loaf of bread that we will break together during our time in fellowship.
