Food, Ethics and Community

First Parish service explores relationship of food, ethics and community.
Food is not only a necessity, but so much more: comfort, community sharing, and pleasure. It is also one way we demonstrate our religious, ethical and political beliefs. Join us this Sunday when the “Conscious Eating Group” at First Parish will lead the worship service. This group meets monthly and all are welcome.
In this Sunday’s service, you will hear members speak of food and its impact on our lives: Carolyn Lee will speak about the healing power of food and community. Liz Rust will share why she has subscribed to a Community Sustained Agriculture program for years. Fran Sharp will offer reasons why she is a vegetarian and suggest ways to avoid perpetuating inhumane animal raising for meat consumption.
