Yoga INSIGHT MEDITATION

“Mindfulness is awareness, cultivated by paying attention in a sustained and particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally. In addition there is an innate quality of kindness, and open- heartedness in this awareness.”     ~ Jon Kabat-Zinn

First, this is a message of invitation, of welcoming — if you are curious but hesitant, mystified or put off, or for some reason sure that meditation and this group are not for you – please reconsider, come and see for yourself.

Who we are:  We’re a group that is constantly evolving, with a steady core of individuals who come regularly most Thursdays; and, because of jobs, schedules, other commitments, there are people who come and go, drop in and out. Absolutely everyone is welcome, in any capacity.  ….read more

Please join us any Thursday from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm.

And feel free to email me, or others* who come, with any questions you might have. Laine Gifford . *Fran Sharp, Susan Stocker, Bridget Hanson, Susan McKain, Peg Espinola

What is happening in our Religious Education Program for Children and Youth

Sunday, March 15

There will not be nursery care this Sunday.  We welcome babies and young children  in the Sanctuary to be with their parents. Please sit in the front pews on the right side of the Sanctuary.  The ushers will give your children a “Busy Hands” work bag to help them during the service.

HammershoiThe “Spirit of Adventure” group, led by Ginny Steel, Oliver Willett, and Liz Llewellyn, will be learning about the UU Arctic explorer, Vilhjamur Stefansson, who lived with the “Eskimos” to learn how they coped so well in their challenging environment. He taught widely about the value of really understanding and respecting people whose lives are very different from ours.  Where would you like to explore?  What would you like to learn about some far-away place and its people?
