An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power free screening in Maynard

An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power, Al Gore’s new documentary

The Maynard Democratic Town Committee invites you to join us at Maynard Fine Arts Theater Place on Wednesday, October 25th for a free public event featuring Al Gore’s new film on global warming. The theme for the evening is “think globally, act locally: bringing it home.”

The event begins at 6:30 with a 30-minute panel conversation about simple things we can all do on a local and personal level to help undo or lessen global warming.  The panel will feature 2 perspectives:  Jill Appel, who helped lead Concord in becoming the first U.S. town to ban single-serve plastic bottles, will share some of the successful steps she and her family have taken to reduce their own energy and water use; and Rochelle Lerner, faculty advisor to Maynard High School’s Green Team, and a student member of that group will discuss their work.  The audience will have an opportunity for questions and will receive handouts with additional ideas for individual action.

An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power will begin at 7:00 PM.  Al Gore’s 2006 film, An Inconvenient Truth, highlighted the global climate crisis, and his new film illustrates how close we are coming to an energy revolution. Former Vice President Al Gore continues his ongoing crusade to train a cadre of climate champions across the country and to influence international climate policy.

Please come join us on October 25th and “bring home” some ways we can each help to make a difference in our climate future.  All are welcome.  We hope that everyone leaves a little more informed and committed to some additional personal action!
