Hosting A Guest At Your Table

We have begun our congregation-wide fundraiser to support the important work of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee. Everyone in worship on Nov. 13 was given a “Guest At Your Table” box, and was asked to create a place for the box at your dinner table. Consider giving the cost of what it would take to feed that unknown guest at your own dinner table each night of the fundraiser through the holiday season. If you need a G@YT box, contact Fran in the office.

UUSC advances human rights through grassroots collaboration. In more than a dozen countries throughout the world, UUSC fosters social justice and works toward a world free from oppression. UUSC’s innovative approaches and measurable impact — in promoting economic justice, bolstering environmental justice, and protecting rights at risk — are grounded in the belief that all people have inherent power, dignity, and rights. In partnership with dedicated volunteers, tireless activists, and inspiring grassroots organizations throughout the world, UUSC aims to ensure that these fundamental human rights are realities for everyone — no matter race, gender, or class.

UUSC works specifically with people and communities who are denied their rights because of who they are — women, people of color, refugees, religious minorities, LGBTI individuals in Africa, and others. They seek populations who are not served by mainstream human rights organizations.

The G@YT collection will take place after the holidays, in early January. We welcome checks or the cash that was collected in your box. Thank you!
