Colorful striped socks isolated on white background

SOCKTOBER continues.

First Parish is joining the SOCKTOBER movement.  Socktober is an annual collection of socks for the homeless.    See this fun video with Kid President to get inspired!   The goal is to have three million people participate across the country, which is 1 million more than last year – let’s  get at least 100 participants. Current number of people who have participated: 17. We need to step up the pace; walk the walk, toe the line!

How do we SOCKTOBER?

Buy NEW socks and drop them off in the collection bin in the Parish Hall during Socktober, and add your names to our participants list nearby.

Our socks will be donated to homeless folks in our neighboring area:  men and women at Pine Street Inn ( ) and children in the Family Promise Metrowest program ( ).  The kids are: girls ages 1,3,4,11,14 and boys ages 5, 7 ,8, 10, 11 and can use both gym socks and regular socks

This is a great project for kids and adults of all ages to participate in.  Winter is coming, help keep lots of feet warm. We welcome socks of all colors, stripes and sizes!
