The Auction is Coming!

Auction-Items-dogMark your calendars for Saturday evening, April 2nd at 6:00, for the annual First Parish Spring Service Auction.

If you are a veteran of the Service Auction, you know what a good time is to be had.  If you are a newcomer, this is THE social event of the year! And the social event continues after the Auction ends with a chance to get to know new folks and reconnect with each other at the dinners, pool parties, and other social events that are auctioned.

The evening will begin at 6:00 with appetizers, wine, beer, and soft drinks while we peruse and bid on silent auction items. A buffet supper will be served and then we’ll move into the lively verbal auction, where you’ll have a chance to bid on dinners, vacation homes, theater trips, and even a sermon!

There will be childcare with pizza and a program for the kids.

There will be gift certificates and items donated by area merchants. But the best items are those donated by First Parish members and friends. Do you have something tucked away that is new but isn’t exactly right for you but someone else may cherish?  Perhaps an antique that no longer fits the décor?   Or maybe you would like to donate a service – gardening, computer help, dance lessons, rides to the airport. We auction off baked goods, vacation homes, dinners in your home, pool parties, etc.  In short, anything that is fun.

There are two ways to make a donation to the Auction. The online form is at: If you prefer a manual form, they are available in the church office. If you have something in mind, it’s not too early to donate. And you can donate additional items at any time.

Auction tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.

Any questions, please contact the Service Auction Committee: Sherene Aram, Sherri Cline, Gail Hardenbergh, Jan Hardenbergh, Anna Lee, and Sheila Murphy.

See you at the Auction!
