Women’s Alliance Potluck and program on co-housing

women meetingOur next potluck and meeting is Friday evening, January 8 at FirstParish of Sudbury, starting at 6:30 p.m.  We are fortunate in being able to offer a program on cohousing, an alternative to the individualistic, fully separate households in which most of us live, be they in apartments, single family homes or condos.  Elizabeth Magill (Liz) ad Charlene DiCalogero are members of Mosaic Commons Cohousing  and Camelot Cohousing respectively.  These are two separate communities that share the same land, roads, and water/septic in Berlin, MA, and as such show how similar groups of people use consensus decision-making to create very different intentional communities, while starting with the same basic cohousing principals.  Both Liz and Charlene were part of the development of their neighborhoods from early in the process.

Liz is pastor of Second Church in Newton and lives in Mosaic with her husband. She is part of the Facilitation Process and Community Support teams at Mosaic.  Charlene is a higher education and nonprofit administrative professional, progressive activist and writer/musician.  A single lesbian, Charlene is a member of the Conflict Resolution  and Garden and Landscaping teams at Camelot. We look forward to hearing their stories and having them answer our questions.

The Alliance would also like you to Save the Dates for our next retreat, April 8 to 10 at Wisdom House in CT.
