Harvest Craft Fair – October 17, 2015

Harvest Craft (1)

2015 marks the 114th Annual Harvest Craft Fair.

Our Harvest Fair is well respected in the crafting community.  Approximately 50% of our vendors are repeats from prior years. Many of the new vendors were referred by those who have been here before. The Fair is a great community event for First Parish, Sudbury, and the MetroWest area.  We usually draw over 600 customers to the Fair and raise approximately $9000.00 for First Parish.

The “Crafter Co-Chairs”  (as opposed to the “Facilities Co-Chairs”) are responsible for all things to do with soliciting, jurying, communicating with, and tending to the crafters. Typically, the co-chairs have distinct responsibilities.  One person manages the extensive database of the crafters while the other co-chair is the primary interface with the crafters in terms of soliciting them via online websites and answering questions, and also manages the publicity for the Fair.  Because the better and more professional crafters plan their schedules months in advance, we have to start our process in February.  We do that by sending applications to previous year vendors by email or snail mail and by updating the crafter websites. The applications are then juried in early May and again in August. In the Fall, space assignments are made, final letters sent, and the Fair will be on Oct. 17.
