The Women’s Alliance will hold its final potluck meeting of the church year on Thursday, June 8, at 6:30 in the Brackett Room.  This will be our Annual Meeting where we elect our officers for the coming year, vote on grant proposals (we have one so far) and plan for the following year. All ages are welcome to our Church Picnic on Sunday, June 11 after the Flower Communion Service.  Hamburgers  and hot dogs (meat & vegetarian) and the fixings, AND ice cream are provided by Community and Hospitality Committee.  Bring a dish to share with a list of the ingredients, drinks, picnic blankets and games.  Members of the Conscious Eaters group are bringing their favorite healthy homemade snacks with copies of the recipe.   We will have a supply of plates, napkins, and utensils but we encourage you to bring recyclable supplies. ...

Independence Day at FPS

We had so much fun grilling and selling picnic food to the Independence Day Parade spectators last year that we are running it again.  We welcome everyone to help plan, shop, grill, cut watermelons, set up tables and canopies and clean up.  If you can’t be there, you can still help by baking cookies, brownies, or cupcakes ahead of time.  Store them in the brand new freezer with a big tag “July 4 Grill” We already have several volunteers. Our next get-together: Saturday, June 17 10:30am at FPS We got together for our first meeting on May 20, with great enthusiasm and lots of ideas for future books to read. The book we chose to read (or begin) by June 17 is “Dying to Be Me” by Anita Moorjani. This is a fascinating account of a woman’s near death experience as a result of Stage 4 cancer, and her medically documented miraculous recovery. This Sunday is our final gathering in Religious Exploration class for the year, as next Sunday on June 11th we will stay in the sanctuary and join in the multi-generational flower communion and celebration Sunday. Thus, this Sunday we will have an all-RE gathering to reflect on and close out the year together, and to celebrate and appreciate our community of seekers and learners together.
