This Sunday, April 22, writer/philosopher/naturalist Henry David Thoreau comes to life through a special musical performance presented by First Parish of Sudbury. Acquaintance With Nature, a nine-part piece for chorus, piano, clarinet and narrator (who plays the role of the young Thoreau), was written by Vermont composer Gwyneth Walker and will feature the First Parish Choir. A fun time was had by all at The Mad Hatter’s Ball & Auction on April 7.  For those of you missed it, your fellow parishioners were in the spirit – sporting hats of all variety.  Prizes were awarded in several categories.   The judges had quite a difficult time as the creativity of the designers was impressive! It was a very chilly Saturday morning , but 4 hardy children, 1 youth, 6 adults and 1 dog represented First Parish of Sudbury at the 9th annual Family Promise Metrowest (FPM) Walk to End Homelessness in Natick. We were happy to help FPM raise funds to support their programs.  FPM made their goal of $160,000 with the donations from you, our families and friends.  We raised $2640, making First Parish of Sudbury UU the 11th ranked team out of 68 teams!
