On the first Saturday of each month (watch for announcements) we get together for the Seekers Gatherings, led by Rev. Dr. Marjorie Matty. They begin at 5:30 with a chance to chat and greet one another. At 6:00 we eat and the presentation and discussion follow.
What is the Seekers Gathering? Aside from the potluck, Rev. Marjorie shares with us some readings, usually some video clips, and other worshipful elements on the theme of the upcoming month’s worship services. A discussion follows in which Rev. Marjorie welcomes input about the worship theme.
One regular attendee says “My husband and I have been to most of the monthly gatherings and really try not to miss them. We have found them to be fun, educational, thought provoking and very worthwhile, not to mention the delicious food!”
This Saturday’s Seekers Gathering will be on the topic of The Golden Circle–the Why, How and What of Life.
Childcare is available, this month provided by Sonia and Bailey Prince. The Seekers Gatherings are supported by the FPS Community and Hospitality Committee. For more information, contact Fran Sharp in the office.
Seekers Potluck on December 6th at 5:00 pm – Join us to do some pre-holiday celebration and to think about the importance of light and love only possible during the darkest part of the year. “Seeker Potlucks” which are an evening of multi-media, live music, and musings about the monthly worship theme. These incredible events will be held the first Saturday of every month so please plan on attending, bring some food to share as we gather in community, think about the worship theme of the month (this month: Going Within,) and be serenaded by the tones and tunes of featured artists. The question of what a seeker is has been asked. Here is one possible definition: someone who is on a life journey who is interested in better understanding self and the possibility of participating in transformational learning. All are welcome to attend and participate.
