Black Lives Matter

BLM Banner2

Black Lives Matter Banner hanging between the trees in front of the meetinghouse.

We put up our second banner again today. We will have it up for 90 consecutive days, which would be June 18th.

The banner reads:
“Yes, all lives matter. Every person deserves fairness and compassion. However, because of the ongoing injustice and violence disproportionately faced by people of color, We Affirm That Black Lives Matter.”

First Parish of Sudbury affirms the inherent worth and dignity of all people, and we stand on the side of love. If you wonder why First Parish is taking a stand with regard to Black Lives Matter in a predominantly fair skinned community, if you want to understand the reality of privilege, if you have questions or concerns about our signage and message please join us as we welcome all to the First Parish of Sudbury at 7:30pm. There will be a panel of speakers who will share their thoughts and experiences. Your questions and concerns will be welcomed and addressed, and there will be a small group conversation. Refreshments will be provided.
