This Sunday at First Parish Sudbury children aged 0 to 4 are invited to play in our nursery. Children 4-6 are invited to our Spirit Play class, where we will be learning about what it means to believe in our ideas and act on them through the story of Wanda’s Roses. Older children still in grade school are invited to join our Sing to the Power class, where we are exploring the power of place in doing good work in the world. 7th and 8th graders are invited to join the Breakfast Club, and the high school youth group will meet at noon, after social hour.
First Parish service explores relationship of food, ethics and community.
Food is not only a necessity, but so much more: comfort, community sharing, and pleasure. It is also one way we demonstrate our religious, ethical and political beliefs. Join us this Sunday when the “Conscious Eating Group” at First Parish will lead the worship service. This group meets monthly and all are welcome.
In this Sunday’s service, you will hear members speak of food and its impact on our lives: Carolyn Lee will speak about the healing power of food and community. Liz Rust will share why she has subscribed to a Community Sustained Agriculture program for years. Fran Sharp will offer reasons why she is a vegetarian and suggest ways to avoid perpetuating inhumane animal raising for meat consumption.
The Service Auction is Saturday May 9 from 6:00PM until 9:30PM
This years theme is Time Capsule!

There will be a buffet dinner with adult beverages while people bid at the silent auction. When the tables close on the silent auction, the live auction begins! If you are a newcomer, we are looking for anything of value you care to donate – services, such as computer tutor, yard work, dance lessons, etc. Do you have an unloved wedding present someone else may cherish? Perhaps an antique that no longer fits the décor? Fun items for kids? We auction off baked goods, vacation homes, dinners in your home, pool parties, etc. In short, anything that is fun.
