The Women’s Alliance meets on the 8th of almost every month for an informal potluck dinner, business meeting, discussion topic and/or program. These are usually at First Parish and occasionally in the home of a member. All women of the parish (members and friends) are automatically Alliance members and are encouraged to participate at any time.
The Alliance runs fundraisers, including a yearly rummage sale, in order to fund the donations it makes to worthy organizations and to special projects within First Parish that would not otherwise be funded. Recent prior gifts have funded the electronic piano, the terrace walkway and quilting for children in shelters.
2017 Retreats: Twice a year the members of the Alliance participate in a retreat where they focus on a spiritual topic and enjoy time together.
May 5-7 will be our annual weekend retreat from Friday evening through early Sunday afternoon at Wisdom House in Litchfield, CT. Copies of the Brochure with details and registration information for this retreat are sitting on the table under the “TV” in the Foyer. Registration deadline is April 1. We currently (March 20) have room for about 6 more women.
