Are We There Yet?

What does it take to transform oneself? Siddhartha Gautama was a prince who was brought up in total wealth. Even with everything within his grasp he still felt unfulfilled and began a journey seeking the end of suffering. He wandered a path that led to austerity as a way to better understand the meaning of life, he realized that it is neither wealth nor poverty that held the answers for him. Enlightenment, he learned, can be found upon the middle way thus he became the founder of Buddhism. The Buddha found struggle through transformation until he learned to let go to embrace enlightenment. Rev. Dr. Marjorie Matty will look at the many sages that yearned for something more out of life and how their experience of transformation and enlightenment brought them to a whole new level of change.
