Coming Up In Religious Exploration

As November begins, and Religious Exploration turns to this month’s theme of Faith, our focus shifts forward but we’re not leaving hospitality behind us! Here’s what’s coming up in RE –

Youth – Youth Group Hosting Parent’s Night Out; Sign Up in November!

The Youth Group has decided to extend an invitation to the families of First Parish. On December 2nd, 2017, First Parish Youth will be hosting a parent’s night out from 4:00pm to 8:30pm. in parish hall. Families are asked to drop children off no later than 4:15pm on Saturday the 2nd, and to pick them up anytime between then and 8:30pm. This event will be led by youth and volunteers, and will include activities such as movies, arts and crafts, games, and snacks. This event is free of charge; sign-up will begin the second week of November and spaces are limited so sign up early!

Explorers- Our Explorers are hard at work building their “Free to be Me” wall in the commons,  photos will be up this week on our new RE boards in Parish Hall so come take a look! We are also starting to gear up for the coming holidays, and our Explorers have agreed to take part in the Christmas Eve Nativity service. There will be sign-ups for parts in the pageant in the coming weeks, so we can begin our rehearsals! If you know your family will not be able to attend the service, please let the IDRE know in advance so that we are able to fill parts with those attending.

Recently, some updates have been made to our Safe Congregation policy. This policy safeguards our children, staff, and volunteers, and the updates will require some paperwork to be completed by those working with children at First Parish. Please see the IDRE as soon as possible if you’d like to volunteer, or to continue volunteering with our children and youth!

The Nursery still has a need for volunteers on Sunday Mornings – contact the IDRE at if you would like to sign up!

I would also like to extend a huge thank you to all of you, who on a weekly basis offer their time and care to the children here at First Parish; you are all amazing! Also, a special thank you to our amazing REC: Mark Trone, Diahanne Lucan, Sally Sweitzer, Susan Rosenblum, Taryn Trexler, and Sheri Grusheski, for all of your hard work and dedication.
