Religious Exploration October 29th

Spirit Play: This week in Spirit Play our group will hear the Sources story, and  will learn about the six UU sources and the importance of each one. Afterwards, we have an activity planned in which the kids will have the chance to pick a source- whichever they think is the most important- and then take part in a coloring activity. Once they’re all finished, as usual, we will do our regular spirit play individual activities.

UU Explorers: This week, our Explorers group will be closing out this month’s theme of hospitality by looking at ways in which we can bridge the divide between ourselves, and those who may be different from us. Popcorn Theology has proven to be an amazing guideline with which to explore such themes, so this week we’ll tackle “The Hunger Games”, giving our amazing explorers the opportunity to discuss themes like economic disparity and inclusion beyond origin. They are learning that every day we each have the opportunity to reach out and invite someone new into our fold, to potentially make a new friend, and to spread loving kindness out into our world. Don’t forget, as always, there will be popcorn!

Nursery care: This week the youngest among us will be joined by our volunteers in the upper level SED classroom. For those of you interested in volunteering in the Nursery, please note that all sermons can be heard from this room, which means you’ll never have to miss one! Please contact the IDRE at if you wish to sign up!

Youth Group: Our youth group is off to an amazing start this year! They’ve decided that they want to do more volunteer work right here at FPS, because as we’ve realized, hospitality truly starts at home. If you see them around lending a helping hand don’t forget to say hello, and they have a special surprise coming up this December for our RE parents…sign up will begin soon so keep an eye out!
