Religious Exploration October 1st

Spirit Play: This week in Spirit play we will learn the story of Kalapana, a renewal story about the goddess Pele and the Kilauea Volcano that also ties in aspects of creation story ideas.  After hearing the story and discussing its importance the children will be able to do arts and crafts activities around Hawaiian flowers or volcanoes involved in the story.

UU Explorers: “What would it mean to receive someone – a stranger – with a presence that was not just polite, but to receive them with revolutionary generosity?” This week our Explorers will kick off the Hospitality theme by discussing the difference between “hospitality” and “radical hospitality”.  Through a series of stories and games, we’ll begin our month by exploring ways in which we can open ourselves and our homes to others in out of the ordinary and unexpected ways.

Nursery care: This week the youngest among us will be joined by our volunteers in classroom one on the lower level, where they will have full access to all of the age appropriate toys and accommodations that this wonderful SED classroom has to offer!

Youth Group: Our Youth Group meeting will take place at 7pm on October 15th, 2017 in the Commons.
