Generosity – A Spiritual Practice…

Poet John O’Donohue once wrote that, “A generous heart is never lonesome. A generous heart has luck. The lonesomeness of contemporary life is partly due to the failure of generosity.” As we make our way in this world that is largely built upon consumerism and accumulation we can be found wanting and waiting for this or that acquisition to finally realize our happiness; even after achieving our goals one can still be found wanting. What is it that we really lack? What if fulfillment, happiness and freedom can only be found and measured in the way that we give from our heart? Generosity of Spirit can be a gateway that leads to a connection with our inner depth. This Sunday, Rev. Dr. Marjorie Matty will share her thoughts about the practice of generosity as a spiritual one that enables humankind to embrace a sense of freedom through happiness.
