Religious Education June 5th

chalice pipecleanersThis is a very special Sunday for RE! We will be honoring some “First” Rites of Passage for our children and youth this year.

We’ll honor our First Years — everyone new to the program this year, with a small gift.

First Chalice is then a ceremony to honor those in second to fourth grade who have journeyed a little longer and are starting to reason and discern with our religious resources on their own.

First Mentors will honor fifth to seventh graders who have engaged in conversation and committed to a small service project with a new adult friend from the congregation, as they start to make their own connections in the church and contribute in a capacity of service.

First Drivers is a fun tradition of honoring our youth who have received driver’s licenses this past year and blessing them with their new responsibilities.

After the ceremonies, children will leave for RE to meet with their classes one last time for the year before our multigenerational Flower Communion Sunday June 12th.
