FPS to Share the Plate March 13 with Employment Options of Marlborough

As we do abofull collection plateut once a month, we are sharing our collection with a worthy organization recommended by one of our members. This Sunday, March 13, we will Share the Plate with Employment Options of Marlborough.

The mission of Employment Options is to empower individuals and families in recovery to thrive in their communities.   Employment Options does this through employment training and on the job coaching, by providing peer to peer support in our Clubhouse, and by providing counseling.  Employment Options is committed to providing the support services to allow people with mental illness lead successful lives while raising awareness about mental illness and helping to reduce the stigma.  They are funded in part through the Department of Mental Health, but rely heavily on corporate and individual support. First Parish is proud to Share the Plate with Employment Options and hope that people will give generously to this worthy organization.

Employment Options is hosting two fundraisers and a cultivation event in the near future.  On March 31, there will be a cultivation event featuring wine, whiskey and hors d’oeuvres from 6 to 8PM.  Please come and learn more about the organization and its activities.  On April 2, there will be a “Raise the Roof” fundraising event featuring dinner, music and a raffle.  This event was started to honor the life of a man who was killed by his mentally ill child and is now in its second year.  Finally, on May 5,  Employment Options will host its annual Gala with silent and verbal auction at the Charter Oak Country Club in Hudson.
