Communication Task Team in high gear

Interdependence banner with people 2015

Last year Rev. Marjorie began forming the Communications Task Team (CTT) charged by the trustees with reaching out to attract visitors, publicizing who we are and what we have to share with the greater community, and helping to make a visitor’s first impressions of FPS positive. The CTT is: Rev. Marjorie, Tom Arnold (trustee chair), Deborah Kruskal (trustee), Jan Hardenbergh (webmaster), Fran Sharp (administrator), Lois Schiappa, Lulu Cash, and Tom Yelton.

We met through the spring and summer, gearing up for the start of our new program year on Sunday, Sept. 13.

Here are some of CTT’s efforts you may have seen and will see soon:

  • “Interdependence” Banner on Independence Day on our lawn, honoring our 7th Principle (see above).
  • new beautiful banners on the meetinghouse soon with our congregation’s “tag line”: Ignite Your Spirit, Nurture Your Values, Join Our Community
  • a spruced up lobby, in progress,
  • a new FPS lobby monitor with photos, events, a message, and more
  • an advertisement to run in the Sudbury Town Crier on Sept. 10 and Wicked Local online (for a month).
  • a guest column in the Sudbury Town Crier (and other papers at their discretion) written by Rev. Marjorie about Interdependence
  • lawn signs throughout the year

There have been other behind-the-scenes efforts, including a mailing to new homeowners in Sudbury and Maynard inviting them to visit.

Please help us spread the word. Word of mouth by congregants is a very effective way of bringing in new guests. Our Community and Hospitality Committee is ready to greet visitors and help them learn more and become acclimated, but the first task is to have them visit. Thanks for your help!
